I had the pleasure of coming to Union Springs recently doing research for the Wilkerson Family. What a beautiful place you have to live!! The people were so nice. The Librarian was of great help. She directed us to the Scotland Community where I found my Great- great-grandfather's grave in Bethel Cem. John Wilkerson. I could just picture a thriving place in his day. My family left the area in the mid-1800's, but I still feel a kinship with the area. My great-grandfather Thomas C. Wilkerson -his brother John and sister Sarah were all born there. Hope to return soon!

I would like to see a beautiful shopping mall so we would not have to travel a distance to shop for clothes.

I'm very impressed with with my home town web page. I was surprised to learn of the site. I did note that My church Mt. Calvary Baptist was not listed under churches. This church is located in the Indian Creek community, and Rev. Fowler is the pastor. I now reside in Sarasota Florida.

Being a long time resident of Union Springs, AL, now being away at college at the University of South Alabama, www.usouthal.edu  I ran across the site while I was doing research on my town and I was pleased to see that Union Springs had a website. It looks GREAT! It has just what I need to finish my presentation for class. Also, is it possible to add an Online Herald so that those away from home can keep up with the happenings in the county.

Keep up the good work.

I really missed Union Springs, Alabama. It is such a nice place to reside in. If you are really ready for a peaceful and friendly environment, Don't hesitate, Union Springs is the place to be.

Union Springs is where I lived all of my childhood days. My real family resides there and in Brundidge. I must say, being there is like being by the beach. You could really relax. Ohhhh Myyy, I could just go on, and on about this place. There is no one I know of that was born or raised in Union Springs, or any where in Bullock County, that has moved away and grown up, that could say they would never go back to Union Springs or Anywhere in Bullock County to relax, retire or to live. Love that good ole' Union Springs.

Hello! I was lucky enough to stop in your city this past summer on a bicycling trip across the country with my friend, Sarah Murphy. Very wonderful residents gave us a place to stay and wonderful conversation while we were there.

We were also interviewed for a story by a reporter for your newspaper-unfortunately we couldn't stay long enough for the paper to come out, but would like to have a copy of this article. We had such a lovely time while we were there, that I would like to have a souvenir!

If you would please write to my email address with any information on how I might obtain a copy of this newspaper (even the name of it ) so I might contact them, I would greatly appreciate it. Hope all is well in your fair city.

Sincerely, Gaela Mitchell

P.S. You have an excellent staff of librarians in your county library! Thanks!

Growing up in Union Springs in the '60's was the best time of my life. One of my fondest memories was taking my driving test, successfully negotiating around the Civil War Monument that used to sit where the Bird Dog Statue now sits, get my driver's license and drive by myself uptown. This is a nice web page...keep up the good work.

I moved from Union Springs to Montgomery 1992, but only because I had a stroke and needed to be near rehab facilities and my Doctors, however Union Springs will always be my home
